Southern Sound & Lighting has proudly served the
Houston area and beyond for more than 35 years
under the same name and the same owner.
Unlike many production companies, we have never
relied on silent partners or corporate investors.
Our independence allows us to stay true to our values and
remain fully committed to the clients and
communities we serve.

From the beginning, we’ve built our company on a people-first philosophy. We value our employees, clients, and contractors as the foundation of our success. This approach has allowed us to create long-term relationships based on trust, professionalism, and shared commitment to quality.
Experienced & Knowledgeable Team
Our workforce is one of the most experienced and knowledgeable in the industry. Each member of our team brings years of hands-on expertise, ensuring that every event is produced with precision and professionalism. We also believe in giving back — for more than 10 years, we have operated a summer intern program, providing young people with the opportunity to learn the industry and gain real-world experience.
Investing in Our Own Resources
Unlike many companies that rely heavily on cross-rentals, we own and maintain all of our own equipment. This ensures quality, reliability, and availability for our clients. In fact, less than 5 percent of our annual work involves cross-rental equipment, giving us greater control over production value and keeping costs predictable for our clients.
We also own our own fleet of delivery vehicles, ranging from Sprinter vans to 53-foot semi-trailers, giving us the ability to transport equipment efficiently and reliably to events of any scale. Beyond that, we own our primary facility outright and will soon begin construction on our second facility, a testament to the growth and stability we’ve built over decades.
